Hands On: PLDT Landline Plus Prepaid Sim

Posted on April 11, 2008

After unpacking my PLDT Landline Plus Prepaid Sim, I immediately tried and tested it. Of course, I inserted the sim card in my Nokia phone and turn it on. Duh!

Activating the Sim

PLDT Landline prepaid sim comes with a 50 pesos pre-load value so users can use it instantly. There are two options: P50 one time only plan or the 30-day plan. I chose P50 plan because I don’t have a load yet and I just wanna try the service. I activated it by dialing #101*50. After a few seconds, voila! I have just activated my new PLDT landline prepaid sim. I get 5 days unlimited incoming calls and 25 minutes of outgoing calls.

Calling

I YMed a friend and asked to dial my number. I was expecting a not so nice reception but I was wrong because when I answered the call It felt like using a real landline phone. It was loud and clear.

Reloading

The load expired 5 days after I activated it. I was a bit hesitant to go to the nearest SmartLoad center because I might not get the load. But my mother, she’s the one using the sim right now, asked me try so she could use it again. My brother went to the loading center but before that I have to give him instructions, he even brought with him the manual. Anyway, reloading PLDT landline prepaid sim is just like reloading a smart buddy or talk n text prepaid sim. Just go to a smartload center and give your number with this format (if your with metro manila) 0632 - example, 06328632611.

Hmm

For me PLDT prepaid landline sim will be a hit for some who can’t afford a postpaid landline and those who are always on the go. You can bring a personal landline and a mobile phone at the same time.
